THE IDEA

“The idea of making beet kvas came to mind many years ago. I read somewhere that it is a miraculous beverage and I’ve been always attracted to miraculous things. I decided to try to make it, although the kithen was always a strange place for me (when it comes to cooking, not eating, haha!). In the beginning it was not easy. There were many unpleasant surprises. The kvass was going crazy – it bursted, hissed, molded. It kept me awake at night. Instead of sleeping at night like a decent human being, I kept thinkin and wondering how to find the perfect recipie. And I didn’t give up. I kept on putting the beets and making new kvass, trying to make it better and better untill it became my “spécialité de la maison”. I gave kvass to anyone who visited me. And I visited someone as a guest, I took a bottle or two with me.
Unexpectedly, I became the beetroot man.

You can laugh but I even have beetrot-couloured (not purple!) suspenders, that were specially gifted to me. I also have beetrot shoes. Once when I was at the seaside I saw them in the shopping window. I spent my last money on them. Now I wear them only for special occasions.

By buying something, you buy not only the product, but also its packaging. The idea of ​​zero waste is important to us. We want to limit the amount of waste generated as a result of our work. Our discount bottle is a reusable packaging. It means that:

You don’t have to throw away the bottle or look for new uses for it.
You can fill it up again in your
local kisi-kisi station, paying only for the kvass.

You can give us the used bottle caps. In return, we will give you new ones and we will recycle the ones that already lost their protective properties.

Before refilling your bottle, wash it carefully with thoroughly with warm water, washing liquid and a brush. Don’t forget to wash the cap! Every now and then put them in a dishwasher or pour some boiling water on them.

If the kvass is stored in the fridge for a longer period of time, we do not recommend drinking directly from the bottle. kisi-kisi is biologically alive drink -introducing foreign bacteria inside, you risk welcoming unforeseen proce-sses in the kvass.

At the cocktail after the screening we will be serving wine as well as kisi – kisi beet kvass! Both film directors and the main protagonist – Jolanta Janus are kisi-kisi lovers and have been drinking it since 3 years, while shooting the film.
